Progressive Tuscan Dinner Crawl in Florence

If you ever wanted to pack in several restaurants in a short stay but can't seem to find the time to fit them all in, I now offer the option to travelers to come dine with me on a progressive dinner crawl in Florence! The crawl is intended to visit a handful of my favorite eateries, dining one course at a time all while learning the cornerstones of Tuscan cuisine, a bit about local wines, ideal food and wine pairings and the Florentine dining scene.

A progressive dinner crawl in Florence is perfect for many travelers with foodie intentions. This is great for solo travelers, couples and small groups. If you are a cook and love eating out, this is the foodie activity for you. The objective of this food experience is to give travelers an orientation to the eating scene in Florence, heading to some of the best eateries in town lead by a bilingual food expert who will orchestrate an evening full of flavor, fun and culture. I take the worry out of dining by choosing and selecting every menu and being your personal linguistic mediator.  This curated dinner crawl visits locals run by locals, not google translated menus and tourist trappers. You will also have the exclusive access to a local food blogger's favorite restaurant, bar and gelato shop recommendations that you will leave with. We walk from stop to stop, through the historical center so that you can also get comfortable with the city you will be eating your way through.

What to expect on a dinner food crawl in Florence:

Chef Prepared Antipasti Platter....

Fresh Pasta with Saffron and Zucchini Flowers...

Grilled Steak...with gourmet touches of shaved pecorino and crispy rosemary

And finish with artisan gelato...

Is it dinner yet? :)

What is Tuscan food exactly and why would you benefit from a Tuscan food tour?

In my humble option, Tuscany is home to some of the most exquisite regional food and wine in Italy. Every region in Italy has a unique cuisine. History gives Tuscan cuisine an interesting character. In Tuscan cuisine, you find lots of wild meats, nose to tail eating which is currently all the rage, saltless bread, cured meats, local cheeses, peppered and wine slow cooked stews, vegetable minestrone soups, mixing sweet and savory and a slew of sweets (including gelato!). Tuscan cuisine was helped defined and put into writing by Pelegrino Artusi, the first food write to make a compilation of Italian food recipes into one unique cookbook. When you visit Tuscany, there are a list of traditional Tuscan foods that you must try such as la bistecca fiorentina, pappa al pomodoro, lampredotto (for adventurous offal eaters), wild boar pappardelle and cantuccini biscotti with vin santo. On average, most visitors to Florence spend 3 days in this beautiful, cultural oasis. A dinner crawl will expose you to several of must-try traditional Tuscan foods all while having fun with locals and fellow food loving travelers.
